Economic Sustainability:

Economic success has been achieved throughout the years with the continuous search for quality, for the final product and for the service itself, examples for this are the certifications acquired: Oeko-Tex 100 Class II, NP EN ISO 9001:2015 and most recently the integration into the BCI -Better Cotton Initiative. The goal is to achieve economic success in harmony with people and planet.

Social Sustainability:

Jadifex is a member of Sedex (Supplier Ethical Data Exchange), a non-profit organization, that promotes the responsibility and ethics throughout the global supply chain.
We are also friends with UNICEF and AMI, giving contributions for their humanitarian cause.
Considering the Employee welfare, several initiatives have been implemented such as: having fresh fruit available for all; the Jadifex community and the Jadifex library where everybody can share different goods and books with each other.
In 2019 we initiated the preparation to apply for the BSCI (Business Social Compliance Initiative), reinforcing our compromise with social responsibility, this process should be finished in 2020.

Environmental Sustainability:

On a daily basis we try to reduce the consumption of natural resources and the production of waste, maximizing the efficiency of internal processes, reusing and recycling. The waste is sent for recycling or to waste treatment facilities. Waste such as fabric, paper and plastic, is gathered with a special compacting machine. The fabric waste is transformed and gains new life into material for mattresses.

At our sewing unit in Ponte De Lima, we have a rainwater collection mechanism that provides water for the toilets.

We try to use the most sustainable materials in the market and simultaneously suggest this to our Customers and Partners, an example of this is that all plastic bags for internal use are 100% recycled and recyclable.

On the energetic efficiency level, Jadifex installed photovoltaic panels on both production units, this means we generate our own energy and reduce CO2 emissions to the atmosphere. Alternated with the photovoltaic panels are translucid panels that provide natural light inside the buildings, and also help saving energy by heating the environment.

The boiler also has a energy saving system using the steam from the irons to heat the water for laundry.

One of the most important investments with the environmental sustainability are the 10 electric cars that are part of the company’s fleet, each one with its own charging station at the headquarters. This is another big step to reduce the carbon footprint.
